Euro Cars And Coffee

I finally caught a Ferrari Club, Cars and Coffee the other night.  So lets jump right in. The first car to arrive was this gorgeous Porsche Carrera GT. I've been fortunate enough to go on a few drives along side this beast and I would have to say it's one hell of a car. The only Porsche that would top the CGT on the coolness factor would be the new 918 Spyder. I'm still waiting to see one but I can't wait.

Next up is a classic. A Ferrari F40. The Ferrari Enzo's grandfather. This F40 only has 8000 miles on her. The owner bought it with 4000 and has doubled it in the many years they've owned it. Their collection is one of the nicest in Calgary including a Lamborghini Miura, a bunch of old American Muscle cars AND a very rare Ferrari Testarossa Spyder.

Even the British showed up with this Aston Martin Vanquish that is in amazing condition. Aston Martin Started production of the Vanquish in 2001 and stopped in 2007. Thankfully though they brought it back in 2012 and it looks better then ever. The new 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish is one of my top 5 favorite cars at the moment.

A gorgeous Audi R8 V10 Spyder also decided to cruise on by as well. Another very cool looking car and powerful. With that V10 pushing out 525Hp with a top speed of 314 km/h. That's one way to dry your hair in the morning. The R8 is also one of the only cars that has kept the same body style since it was released in 2006. Although once you have something this sexy why would you change it.

Lastly this flawless Porsche GT2 RS. With a 3.4 seconds 0-60 time and a top speed of  330 km/h makes this little thing a rocket. A good looking rocket that is.

Cars and Coffee at Distinctive Collection

Distinctive Collection had their first Cars and Coffee today. A great turn out on a fantastic sunny day in Calgary. Lots of different cars and a great crowd showed up. Starting things off was this fantastic 1986 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante. This vintage ride had a few celebrity appearances. Timothy Dalton to be one, driving it in the James Bond film "The Living Daylights". The other to be the Prince of Whales. Find a few more photos of this Aston at Carshotz.

Next up we have this interesting looking Ferrari Dino 308gt4. This is the first one I had ever seen in person. A very cool looking older Ferrari for sure. There has only been two owners of this car. The current ones bought it when it was only a couple years old and they have done a fantastic job keeping it in great condition. It's nice to see such old cars still getting the road time they deserve.

Jumping from the old to the new. A Ferarri F12 Berlinetta. This is my favorite Ferrari ever produced. 730 hp and a top speed of over 340km/h does it just right for me. Everything about this thing is just gorgeous. I think most of the people there today would agree with me as this was one of the crowds favorite cars there. Hopefully we will see an article on the F12 soon on Carshotz.

The most creative award goes to the new owner of this V8 Vantage. Getting a custom licence plate saying MOVE OVER in reverse. Everyone looking in the rear view mirror of their car will have to get out of the way just because of the awesomeness of this plate.

The last car we will touch on is the sweet looking BMW Z8. The owner of this one picked the perfect rims for this Z8. They match the car so well. A very cool and different looking BMW roadster. With 400hp this car would be a great cruising car and an even better track car.

All in all it was a great morning spent with some cool people. Thanks to everyone that came and hung out. Hope to see even more of you in the future. Every Saturday starting a 9AM Distinctive Collection welcomes you all to join them for some Coffee and to enjoy some fine Cars.
Here are a few more pictures for your viewing pleasure. There are even more on Carshotz Facebook, check it out.

Grey Eagle Casino Wild Wednesday

It's official! The car show season has officially started here in Calgary. Wednesday May 7th was the first of many Wild Wednesdays at the Grey Eagle Casino. Everything and anyone is invited. This always make for some good variety.

The first car on the list is this fine looking De Tomaso Panterea. What a great looking ride. The Pantera was around from 1971-1991. With 330 hp and a top speed of 159 mph (256 km/h) it's not the fastest but definitely one of the coolest cars of its time. I'd gladly take one.

Next up we have a brand new 2014 Corvette Stingray. When I first started seeing pictures of this car I wasn't overly impressed. I've never been that "into" Corvettes. But seeing these things in person has totally changed my mind. I am in love with this thing. Pictures don't do this car justice. Everyone I've talked to who owns one can't stop talking about how amazing they are either. Can't wait till I get the chance to try one out myself.
With a max of 460 hp and a 3.8 second 0-60 this Corvette is near the top of my cars of 2014 list.

Ah yes. Now we can't forget about this perfectly done Ford Bronco. I have always loved the Bronco. It's the coolest truck every put into production.
Scrolling though the web the other day I came across a 2016 Ford bronco SVT concept. Now Ford might be on the right track bringing this bad boy back. I'd be interested in one thats for sure.

Last we have my favorite car that showed up. This Saleen supercharged Mustang. When this beast rolled in it caught everyone's attention. All blacked out, very mean looking with a great sounding exhaust that wasn't to loud or to quiet. It was just perfect.

It was a great start to the Wild Wednesday meets. Lots of cars and some great people. Can't wait till next week. Here are a few more shots of some other beauties that showed up.

All New Bentley Continental GT V8 S

Dragon Red Bentley GT V8 S
Need something fast to get you to the ball? Or maybe to go visit the Queen? How about this 521hp V8 S. Bentley has just released one of the greatest two door luxury cars to date. This all wheel drive beast will get you from 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. While of course you're sipping tea and listening to some Beethoven.

What makes this goddess move? A 4.0 litre twin turbocharged V8. With a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h).

With the original continental putting out about 500hp it's a large jump to the "S". Suspension has be dropped 0.4 inch with stiffer bushings and a stiffer rear anti-roll bar. Even with the suspension differences, this Bentley is still just as comfortable as the others, if not more.

Along with the comfort comes the style. The interior is just as classy as the exterior. Similar to the other styles, the interior seats have the Bentley symbol embroidered on the head rest. The front seats also have a very sporty look to them.

Everything is easy to use and very friendly. From the buttons on the steering wheel to the screen on the center console. Even the gauges are nice to look at. Definitely a well done interior.

Just like everything, Bentley has about a million different options. All of which will make the price rise or fall. But when you're buying a Bentley, price doesn't really matter, does it.

For exterior colors Bentley has some of the most unique ones to choose from. Dragon Red, Ice, Onyx Black to name a few. All of which are amazing to look at. Inside and out.

Now if a coupe isn't your style Bentley has made a convertible version of the V8 S. A bit slower on the 0-60 with a 4.5 second record in stead of a 4.3. It's a little heavier as well. If you can get over that, then you can have the wind blowing through your hair on your morning drive, or any drive.
